Serving Bournemouth

Home air conditioning across Bournemouth.

We're a Dorset-based two-person team offering domestic air conditioning installation, servicing and maintenance across Bournemouth. A site survey helps assess your property's layout, pipe routes and suitable outdoor unit positions.

Seven miles of beach and a mild coastal climate don't stop Bournemouth homes getting hot. Summer sun on south-facing elevations, top-floor flats under flat roofs and loft conversions in Victorian and Edwardian houses all trap heat, and warm, still evenings make it hard for rooms to cool down overnight.

We cover every part of the town, including Southbourne, Tuckton, Boscombe, Pokesdown, Springbourne, Charminster, Winton, Moordown, Kinson, Northbourne, Throop, Queen's Park, Talbot Woods and Westbourne, and the surrounding areas of Christchurch and Poole.

Homes in Bournemouth

Bournemouth has a real mix of housing. Victorian and Edwardian villas and terraces in Boscombe and Westbourne often have high ceilings, solid walls and converted lofts. Inter-war and 1950s semis and bungalows fill much of Southbourne, Kinson and Moordown. And the East and West Cliff areas have many purpose-built and converted flats, where outdoor unit positions and building permissions need extra thought.

Air conditioning options for Bournemouth homes

Why choose us in Bournemouth

A Dorset-based team focused on homes.

We're a new Dorset-based business operating as a two-person team. We offer domestic air conditioning installation, servicing and maintenance in Bournemouth, with free surveys and quotes for new installations. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and ongoing aftercare is available.

Homes across Dorset include period terraces, cottages, bungalows, flats and new builds. A survey helps assess your property's layout and how you use each room before recommending a system.

Local considerations

What we plan for in Bournemouth homes.

Flats and shared buildings

Many Bournemouth flats need freeholder or management company permission before an outdoor unit can be fixed to the building. We'll tell you what to ask for at the survey.

Hot loft conversions

Converted lofts under Bournemouth's pitched roofs heat up fast, particularly with large roof windows. Sizing for that solar gain matters.

Coastal air

Salt air near the cliffs and seafront can be harder on outdoor units over time, so position and regular servicing count.

Older solid walls

Victorian and Edwardian homes have thick solid walls that need the right drilling approach and careful making good around pipework.

Climate & timing

Summer heat in Bournemouth, and when to book.

Bournemouth's sandy cliffs and south-facing seafront mean many homes catch the sun from late morning until evening. In flats along the East and West Cliff, heat builds through the day and rooms stay warm well after sunset, especially on upper floors under flat roofs. Inland neighbourhoods such as Kinson, Moordown and Throop lose the sea breeze and can feel even warmer on still summer days.

Because the town is busy in summer, the best time to book a survey is spring or early autumn. Early enquiries allow more time to plan, although installation dates depend on availability. If you're planning a loft conversion or extension in Southbourne, Winton or Charminster, tell us early so pipework can be hidden before plastering. Many Bournemouth homeowners start with the main bedroom and add a home office or second bedroom later; we'll plan the first system so that's easy to do.

Working with us

What to expect when you book a visit.

South Coast Air Con Ltd operates as a two-person team specialising in domestic air conditioning. We offer free surveys and quotes for new installations, followed by installation and handover. Servicing and maintenance are available afterwards.

We arrange a time that suits you, seven days a week between 8am and 5pm, including weekends. That makes it easier to book a visit without taking time off work. Before we start, we'll walk you through what we're going to do, where we'll be working and how long it should take.

Our aim is careful workmanship suited to your home. During the survey, we discuss where equipment and pipework can go. Installation includes testing the system and explaining how to use it at handover.

Clear prices, simple payment

For new installations the site survey and quote are free, with no obligation to go ahead. We provide a written quote so you can review the proposed work and price. You can pay by bank transfer or by card through payment links from Tide or our accounting software.

Homes only, by choice

We only work in people's homes. That focus shapes everything: quiet unit choices for bedrooms, tidy pipe routes that respect how your house looks, outdoor positions that take your neighbours into account, and advice based on how families actually use their rooms.

Aftercare that continues

Air conditioning works best when it's looked after. Once your job is complete, servicing and maintenance are available. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and we'll explain the terms for the equipment you choose.
