Serving Christchurch

Home air conditioning across Christchurch.

Christchurch is part of our domestic service area, including Purewell and Highcliffe. Contact us to arrange a survey or discuss installation and servicing.

Between the harbour, the rivers Avon and Stour, and the open coast at Mudeford and Highcliffe, Christchurch homes face sea breezes but also plenty of strong summer sun. Bungalows and chalet bungalows with rooms in the roof are especially common, and those upstairs rooms can get uncomfortably warm.

We cover Christchurch town, Highcliffe, Mudeford, Friars Cliff, Stanpit, Somerford, Burton, Purewell, Jumpers Common and the surrounding villages, plus neighbouring New Milton and Bournemouth.

Homes in Christchurch

Christchurch has a large number of bungalows and chalet bungalows, particularly in Highcliffe, Mudeford and Burton, alongside 1960s–80s family homes, newer developments in Somerford and period properties around the historic town centre and Priory. Many households are retired couples or families who spend a lot of time at home, so comfort in the main living room and bedrooms matters year-round.

Air conditioning options for Christchurch homes

  • Cooling rooms in chalet bungalow roofs
  • Heat pump heating for bungalows
  • Conservatory air conditioning

Why choose us in Christchurch

A Dorset-based team focused on homes.

We're a new Dorset-based business operating as a two-person team. We offer domestic air conditioning installation, servicing and maintenance in Christchurch, with free surveys and quotes for new installations. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and ongoing aftercare is available.

Homes across Dorset include period terraces, cottages, bungalows, flats and new builds. A survey helps assess your property's layout and how you use each room before recommending a system.

Local considerations

What we plan for in Christchurch homes.

Rooms in the roof

Chalet bungalows have bedrooms tucked under the roof with dormer or roof windows, which gain heat quickly on sunny days.

Conservatories and sun rooms

Many Christchurch homes have conservatories that are too hot in summer and too cold in winter to use comfortably.

Harbour and sea air

Homes near Mudeford and Highcliffe are exposed to salt-laden air, so outdoor unit position and coil care matter.

Historic town centre

Period homes near the Priory and High Street may be in a conservation area. We'll flag where you should check with the council before fitting an outdoor unit.

Climate & timing

Summer heat in Christchurch, and when to book.

Christchurch is wrapped by water: the harbour, the Stour and Avon rivers and the open sea at Mudeford and Highcliffe. That brings fresh breezes on the coast, but sheltered gardens and inland streets around Burton and Jumpers can feel humid and still on warm days. Humidity makes rooms feel hotter than the thermometer suggests, and air conditioning removes moisture as it cools, which is often the first thing people notice.

Many Christchurch homeowners spend much of the day at home, so the main living room and bedroom are usually the priority. For bungalows, single-storey layouts often mean short, discreet pipe runs straight through an outside wall. For chalet bungalows, we'll look at whether one system can serve the upstairs rooms or whether separate units are better. Booking a survey early gives more time to plan around your preferred installation period.

Whether you live by the Quay, in a Highcliffe bungalow or on a newer street in Somerford, we'll plan the system around your home rather than offering a one-size-fits-all package.

Working with us

What to expect when you book a visit.

South Coast Air Con Ltd operates as a two-person team specialising in domestic air conditioning. We offer free surveys and quotes for new installations, followed by installation and handover. Servicing and maintenance are available afterwards.

We arrange a time that suits you, seven days a week between 8am and 5pm, including weekends. That makes it easier to book a visit without taking time off work. Before we start, we'll walk you through what we're going to do, where we'll be working and how long it should take.

Our aim is careful workmanship suited to your home. During the survey, we discuss where equipment and pipework can go. Installation includes testing the system and explaining how to use it at handover.

Clear prices, simple payment

For new installations the site survey and quote are free, with no obligation to go ahead. We provide a written quote so you can review the proposed work and price. You can pay by bank transfer or by card through payment links from Tide or our accounting software.

Homes only, by choice

We only work in people's homes. That focus shapes everything: quiet unit choices for bedrooms, tidy pipe routes that respect how your house looks, outdoor positions that take your neighbours into account, and advice based on how families actually use their rooms.

Aftercare that continues

Air conditioning works best when it's looked after. Once your job is complete, servicing and maintenance are available. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and we'll explain the terms for the equipment you choose.
