Air conditioning installationfor homes in Swanage

Cool, quiet rooms and efficient heating for Swanage homes and second homes, from the seafront to Herston, Langton Matravers and Studland.

Serving Swanage

Home air conditioning across Swanage.

Swanage sits at the far end of the Isle of Purbeck, and we include it in our regular Dorset coverage. Whether you live here year-round or own a second home, we'll plan your survey and installation around a convenient time.

The town faces east across Swanage Bay, with homes stepping up the hillside behind the seafront. Upper floors and rooms with big bay views can get very warm on summer afternoons, while Purbeck stone homes can feel cold and damp in winter.

We cover Swanage town, Herston, Langton Matravers, Worth Matravers, Studland, Corfe Castle and nearby villages, as well as Wareham and the wider Purbeck area.

Homes in Swanage

Swanage has many traditional Purbeck stone cottages and Victorian and Edwardian seaside villas and terraces, along with post-war bungalows, newer estates in Herston and a significant number of holiday lets and second homes. Stone walls, steep plots and limited outdoor space all affect where equipment can go.

Why choose us in Swanage

A Dorset-based team focused on homes.

We're a new Dorset-based business operating as a two-person team. We offer domestic air conditioning installation, servicing and maintenance in Swanage, with free surveys and quotes for new installations. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and ongoing aftercare is available.

Homes across Dorset include period terraces, cottages, bungalows, flats and new builds. A survey helps assess your property's layout and how you use each room before recommending a system.

Local considerations

What we plan for in Swanage homes.

Purbeck stone walls

Thick stone walls need careful drilling and sealing, and some homes are listed or in conservation areas where consent may be needed.

Steep, tight plots

Hillside homes can have limited outdoor space, so we plan outdoor unit positions with access and noise in mind.

Salt air

Seafront homes are exposed to salt spray, so outdoor units benefit from sheltered positions and regular servicing.

Empty periods

Second homes that sit empty can get musty. A system serviced regularly helps keep the air fresh when guests arrive.

Climate & timing

Summer heat in Swanage, and when to book.

Swanage faces east across the bay, so homes catch the morning sun and, higher up the hillside, often get sun for most of the day. Seafront villas with big bay windows and loft rooms in Victorian terraces can become very warm by afternoon. In winter, Purbeck stone homes can feel cold and damp, which is where the heating side of an air conditioning system really earns its keep.

For second homes, straightforward controls can make it easier to manage room temperatures when the property is occupied. For year-round homes, we'll recommend a system that heats efficiently on chilly spring and autumn evenings as well as cooling in summer. Booking outside the peak season makes surveys easier, especially in a town as busy in summer as Swanage.

Whether your home is on the seafront, up the hill in Herston or out in Langton Matravers, the first step is the same: a free survey, a clear written quote and honest advice on what will work in your rooms. We'll also tell you if a property isn't suitable, rather than forcing a system in.

Working with us

What to expect when you book a visit.

South Coast Air Con Ltd operates as a two-person team specialising in domestic air conditioning. We offer free surveys and quotes for new installations, followed by installation and handover. Servicing and maintenance are available afterwards.

We arrange a time that suits you, seven days a week between 8am and 5pm, including weekends. That makes it easier to book a visit without taking time off work. Before we start, we'll walk you through what we're going to do, where we'll be working and how long it should take.

Our aim is careful workmanship suited to your home. During the survey, we discuss where equipment and pipework can go. Installation includes testing the system and explaining how to use it at handover.

Clear prices, simple payment

For new installations the site survey and quote are free, with no obligation to go ahead. We provide a written quote so you can review the proposed work and price. You can pay by bank transfer or by card through payment links from Tide or our accounting software.

Homes only, by choice

We only work in people's homes. That focus shapes everything: quiet unit choices for bedrooms, tidy pipe routes that respect how your house looks, outdoor positions that take your neighbours into account, and advice based on how families actually use their rooms.

Aftercare that continues

Air conditioning works best when it's looked after. Once your job is complete, servicing and maintenance are available. New equipment comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and we'll explain the terms for the equipment you choose.
